What is Operation Shell Shock?

Operation Shell Shock is a community-driven event designed to raise awareness for Veteran Suicide and Veteran PTSD. This event features a 20-mile ruck march across Florida counties, with the goal of honoring our veterans and drawing attention to the critical mental health challenges they face. Every day, an average of 20 veterans take their own lives due to PTSD, and Operation Shell Shock is committed to raising awareness about this devastating reality and supporting our local veterans.

The event brings together veterans, civilians, first responders, and law enforcement to march in solidarity and demonstrate that we stand together in the fight against veteran suicide and PTSD. Participants will carry ribbons with the names of those who have been lost to suicide or are still battling mental health struggles, ensuring that no veteran is forgotten.

How to Participate in Operation Shell Shock:

1. Join the Ruck March:

   • The 20-mile ruck march will be split into relay teams, solo participants, or family and friend groups. You can choose to march the entire distance or break it up into manageable segments. Everyone is encouraged to participate in any way they can.

   • Participants will receive free water, food, a combat patch, and transportation to and from the event.

2. Honor Veterans and Raise Awareness:

   • Submit the names, ranks, and branches of service of veterans who have been lost to suicide or are struggling with PTSD. These names will be written on ribbons, which participants will carry during the march in honor of those they have lost or are still fighting for their lives.

3. Sign Up for the Event:

   • Sign up early to ensure we can prepare enough supplies and organize transportation. This is a FREE event, and registration is required for planning purposes. 

4. Support the Event as a Donor or Sponsor:

   • If you’re unable to participate in the ruck, you can still contribute by donating or sponsoring the event. All donations will go toward providing food, hydration, and transportation for participants, as well as supporting local veterans.

5. Final Roll Call Ceremony:

   • At the end of the event, we will hold a Final Roll Call Ceremony to honor veterans lost to suicide. There will also be a special afterparty.
